2009  Alumni Weekend
September 11-13

In celebration of the tenth year of the varsity men's soccer program, all Michigan Soccer Alumni and families are invited to participate. It was certainly from the efforts of all those that played before us that we've emerged onto the national collegiate soccer scene. You were the forefathers and will always be recognized as such.  Therefore, you and your friends and family are invited to share in the reminiscing and carrying on.

If you cannot attend the Alumni Weekend but still wish to donate, please use this donation form.  We will send you your gift in the mail.

The schedule of events is as follows:

Friday, September 11

4-7 p.m., Pre-game gathering at Dominick's (Monroe St., Across from Law Quad). Jeff Mirmelstein and Will Purdy will be greeting you at the door.

7:30 p.m., Soccer game vs. Wright State on the "new" Soccer Game Field (behind Varsity Tennis Center by 400 yards ).  Park at the Varsity Tennis Center and walk to the fields for the game.

9:30 p.m., After the game, our team parents will feed both the players and all the alumni under the big tent.  This will the first opportunity for the players on the team to connect with you and vice versa.  It is very important for the current players to get a sense for their next step after their playing days end.  So I really hope that you all stick around and socialize with the boys over some good food.  This will also be your first chance to pick up your "Michigan Soccer" micro-fleece Adidas jacket for a minimum donation of $75.

Post-Team Tailgate, Alumni gathering at Bar Louie, 401 E. Liberty, Ann Arbor, 48104.  Jon Sundermann turns 40 years old today and will be buying the first round!

If each of us remembers our own good fortune and what soccer and the University of Michigan has meant to us, if we can appreciate the value of what our predecessors have provided for us, and if we all can somehow find a way to return that kindness to the next generation, collectively we will accomplish wonders as we carry on our tradition of excellence and build our own legacy.
