Q. What if I lose my confirmation letter?
A. You can print off a "blank" confirmation letter by clicking on this link. However, you should send an email to ldurkee@umich.edu to determine how much you owe so that you get through the check-in process as smoothly as possible.

Q. Do we need to bring bed sheets to camp with us?
A. Yes, Bursley Hall does not provide any bed linens, other than a pillow, for camp.  Our suggestion would be for each camper to bring at least one set of twin sheets to camp, along with a fan for the room, as no rooms have air-conditioning.

Q. What type of supervision is provided at the dorm during non-soccer hours?
A. The University of Michigan Boys Soccer Camp is required to have at least one staff member for every twenty campers in the dorm.  These staff members live on the same floors with the campers. These staff members continually monitor the dorm floors and social areas up till 11:00 p.m.

Q. Do the rooms they stay in have bathrooms in the room? A. There are not bathrooms in each room.  The bathrooms are “community style” bathrooms shared with other campers on that floor.

Q. Does someone check the rooms each night at lights out to ensure they are locked? A. The coaching staff monitors the floors and activity rooms until 11:00 p.m.  The doors to each room are self-locking.  This means that the campers need to have their keys with them at all times; even when they go to the bathroom.

Q. Where do the campers keep their room keys while at the sessions? A. Campers should keep their room keys with them at all times.  When on the fields they should put their keys in their soccer bag.  When not on the fields they should wear their keys around their neck with the lanyard that is provided.

Q. Does someone ensure that the campers bring water to each session? A. There will be cups, water, and Gatorade available on the fields.

Q. Does someone check the rooms before leaving for each session to ensure the younger campers have locked their rooms?  A. Rooms are automatically locked every time the door closes.  Campers need to have their keys with them at all times.

Q. Is there a wake up call or do the campers need an alarm clock? A. Each camper will need to bring an alarm clock.  Teams walk to the fields together for each session.  If a camper is missing, his coach will either send a teammate to his room or have a camp administrator check his room.

Q. Are cell phones allowed in order to call home? A. Cell phones are allowed, but the University or Men’s Soccer Camp are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Q. Are parents allowed to come watch any of the training sessions or does this prove to be too distracting? A. Parents can watch camp.  However, parking at Mitchell Field on weekdays from 8am-4pm is scarce and is by permit only.  The best place to park is across the street from Mitchell Fields at the Art and Architecture metered parking lot and walk over to the fields.

Q. How many hall monitors are assigned to each floor and how many campers stay on one floor?  A. Staff member is on the floor at a ratio of 1:20.  Each floor has approx. 30-40 campers that are all of similar ages.  We separate campers on floors by age.

Q. Do you provide evaluations of each camper?
A. Yes. Each camper is given a detailed evaluation of his performance that is completed by their coach for the week. These evaluations cover the four major areas; technical ability, tactical understanding, physical ability, and mental skills required for success.

Q. How do I obtain a brochure or register for the camp?
A. You can register for the camp in one of two ways by using this website:

Q. What do campers do in their free time?
A. Free time is very limited at the camp. We are on the field or in the lecture hall nearly ten hours a day. Most of the free time is spent in the dorm resting.  However, many campers utilize the recreation room in the evening (pool and card tables).  Additionally, there are several flat screen tv's in the air-conditioned snack bar.  We are finding a growing trend of campers bringing their gaming systems to camp and playing them in their rooms too.
